R&B singer August Alsina canceled his performance at London’s Brooklyn Bowl this weekend, citing medical reasons. In September, Alsina fell from the stage at New York’s Irving Plaza and went into a coma for three days. Still recovering, his doctors are advising Alsina not to fly, yet.
Alsina, who won Best New Artist at the BET Awards in June, has also postponed concerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi that were scheduled months ago to promote his Def Jam label debut, Testimony. The 22-year-old, I Luv This Shirt singer is also scheduled as the opening act on Usher’s upcoming “UR Experience” North American tour which begins November 1 in Montreal, Quebec and ends in Tampa, Florida on December 14. On choosing Alsina, Usher said (just last week): “It is a bit of mentoring, but also too a bit of recognizing that he’s at a place where he’s growing and I just want to give him another experience, and also be supportive.”
