British GQ has named Kim Kardashian as Woman of the Year. Presumably Sheryl Sandberg and Christine Lagarde withdrew their names for consideration for the honor. Accepting the award, Kardashian corrected the magazine on her name: “It’s Kim Kardashian West. I want to thank GQ for making me Woman of the Year, and my husband for making me feel like woman of the year every day.” Although it was a new version of Kim who accepted the award, it is decidedly the old, naked Kim who graces the pages of the magazine.
The GQ Awards were also notable for the appearance of Benedict Drunkerhatch, who closed his rambling acceptance speech for Actor of the Year with the immortal words, “I’m going to leave the stage now because I drank a lot and I need the loo.” Perhaps he just needed some iced water to sober up.
