Guy Pearce (LA Confidential, The Hurt Locker, The King’s Speech) stars in the Australian miniseries Jack Irish based on Peter Temple’s crime books. Jack Irish is a lawyer turned private investigator/debt collector who tries to avoid the past (his wife was murdered) by diving into dirty work. Irish has the knack for being in the wrong place (racetracks, pubs) at the wrong time with the wrong people (drug dealers, unhinged killers). The show’s tagline is “He’s down but not out.”
American television network Fox has just announced that it is adapting the miniseries into a one-hour drama series for an American audience. Although Pearce is currently also busy filming the sci-fi film Equals with Kristen Stewart, fans hope he’ll star in the American version of Jack Irish, too.
