Wesley Snipes is making the media rounds promoting his latest film The Expendables 3 starring Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, and Kelsey Grammer, among others. Snipes’ friend from Demolition Man, Sly Stallone saved the role of “Doc” for Snipes while he was serving his three years in jail for failing to file his income tax returns. (There is a tax-evasion joke in the opening of The Expendables.)
During media interviews, Snipes is making a point to mention his desire to make a fourth Blade movie. His last superhero vampire action film was Blade: Trinity. That was in 2004, when his co-stars Ryan Reynolds (pre-X-Men and Green Lantern) and Jessica Biel (when she was still Mary on Seventh Heaven) were just starting to rise. Of course Snipes is eager to jump back into the role of Blade — he made $13 million for Blade: Trinity. Snipes has a long way to go in getting a Blade 4 off the ground thought: Blade trilogy producer/writer David S. Goyer is now working on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, to be released May 2016. And Ryan Reynolds might be busy filming Deadpool.
