Justin Bieber tweeted “Happy birthday @kyliejenner;) glad I got to spend it with u. So dope watching u grow up.” And then he tweeted: “Just got to FaceTime with Malala Yousafzai. She has such an incredible story. I can’t wait to meet her in person and talk about how I can support her and the @malalafun. #love”
Like many 17-year-olds across the world, Yousafzai–the Pakistani schoolgirl who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban–is a Bieber fan. Perhaps the most visible advocate for girls rights in the world, Yousafzai’s affection for Bieber proves beyond any remaining doubt that the singer’s allure for teenager girls everywhere is somehow overpowering. The bad boy/good boy Bieber has been caught egging a neighbor’s mansion, has a pending drunk driving charge and an assault charge in Toronto but that’s not enough to deter a girl from speaking to the Biebs. Yousafzai can hopefully use his fame to help her cause.
