Good pals and singing sensations Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd opened the Teen Choice Awards this week by performing Really Don’t Care off Lovato’s Demi album. Afterwards, when accepting the first surfboard (the Teen Choice Award) Lovato dedicated the award to her fans (who are prominently featured in the Really Don’t Care lyric video) and her music collaborator/friend Cher Lloyd.
While Lloyd, the former X Factor star, appears to be thriving via Lovato’s success, sales for her own second album, Sorry I’m Late, aren’t good. In its first two weeks, only 10,000 copies were sold. A source told Daily Star Sunday that “It’s no secret how disappointed the label [Simon Cowell’s Syco] is with the poor performance.” Lloyd may have to ride Lovato’s coattails–or cape, in Demi’s case–while she finds a way to fly on her own.
