The cop comedy show Brooklyn Nine-Nine is going to have an all-star cast for its second season, which will premiere on September 28. Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens will make an appearance on the Fox sitcom. He’ll play himself and yes he will play football on the show. The Nine-Nine precinct gets involved in a cops-versus-firemen game. It’ll be a good game: one of the show’s regular characters, Sgt.Terry Jeffords, is former NFL linebacker Terry Crews.
Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) will play the nemesis of Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Andy Samberg’s former SNL cast member, Jenny Slate (Married), will play a mob mistress who just might help Samberg’s character Jake bring a mobster to justice. Like Samberg on SNL, Slate has seen great success in the short film genre (Marcel the Shell With Shoes On). Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans hope Samberg and Slate will get crafty and produce a digital short about cops.
