As possibly a tease of bigger things to come at Comic Con, Warner Bros. today released a new official image of Ben Affleck as Batman. This close-up image of the Caped Crusader was featured on the 75th Anniversary mosaic but the tease went mostly unnoticed except by a few keen eyed fans. Tim Beedle wrote on the DC Comics blog: “The filmmakers wanted to include this new cinematic version of the Dark Knight in the anniversary mosaic so it could be discovered by fans! The cast and crew behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are excited to be a part of the 75th celebration!”
Set for release May 6, 2016, Batman v Superman is already the talk of the DC side of Comic Con. Many expect DC to announce a whole slate of movies to rival their Marvel counterparts. At the very least DC should officially announce Dwayne Johnson’s casting as Shazam, but don’t be surprised if there are a whole slew of announcements. While it’s yet to be seen who will steal the show, expect DC to come out swinging – with Marvel’s Cinematic Universe as popular as it is, DC has nothing to lose.
