The cast and crew of AMC’s The Walking Dead took over Hall H Friday to discuss the shocking end to Walking Dead season 4 and what to look forward to in Walking Dead season 5. The panelists were on stage for a Q&A session and also released a visually spectacular and action packed trailer for next season. The show is on a serious upswing. As Multichannel reports, Walking Dead season 4 averaged “13.3 million viewers (live/same day) and 8.6 million adults 18-49, an increase of 24% and 22% respectively over season three averages.” If you haven’t watched season 4, be warned there are spoilers below.
Season 5 will pick up right where the fourth left off – with the majority of the main characters imprisoned at Terminus. While a seemingly grim situation, after a trying season with many of the characters separated, Rick, played by Andrew Lincoln, was finally united with his family and friends. He ended the season on a hopeful note. “They’re gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out… They’re screwin’ with the wrong people.” As the new trailer shows, Rick and his crew won’t be captives for long, potentially joining with their captors, and will head toward Washington DC, in search of a cure. But Grimes reminds us in the trailer that despite all these positives: “No matter what you think, you are not safe.” That warning should make for some great TV. The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 12, at 9 pm.
