Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan has reunited actors Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel to star in his latest film Sex Tape. Sure Segel had a hand in writing the screenplay, but the story belongs to funny lady Kate Angelo. She’s written big laughs for super popular sitcoms including Will & Grace, The Bernie Mac Show and Ted Danson’s Becker. Sex Tape is her second film. The Back-Up Plan starring Jennifer Lopez was her first. Critics generally panned The Back-Up Plan script, but the popular film grossed $77 million worldwide. It’s CBS Films’ highest-grossing film to date. Angelo must be hoping the critics hate Sex Tape too.
Sex Tape premieres July 25. Angelo’s current project is under wraps but is expected to be another high grossing film for Sony Entertainment Pictures. It’s a comedy involving three best girlfriends on a road trip.
