Pharrell Williams’s international megahit “Happy” was blaring in the Rio stadium after Germany won the World Cup Finals against Argentina. The singer is a soccer fan. Known to doodle, Pharrell designed (or doodle-signed) an official Adidas Brazuca World Cup soccer ball which is being auctioned off for charity on eBay by luxury Italian retailer Luisaviaroma. Proceeds to go to Gol de Letra Foundation, a charity that benefits Brazilian youth programs. More than 100 people have bid on the ball so far. It will fetch more than USD $1000. (Auction is over tomorrow, July 14.) Not bad since an Adidas World Cup ball with no Pharrell penmanship at all can run you $200.
It’s not the first time Pharrell designed a soccer ball. He has three available at his clothing line retail shop, Billionaire Boys Club Ice Cream ($60 each, see below).
