Vermeer’s Young Woman Seated at a Virginal is now on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It’s been almost ten years since a Vermeer painting has been on view in the City of Brotherly Love. It’s believed to be one of Vermeer’s last. (It’s on loan from the Leiden Collection.)
And New York fashion designer Gerlan Marcel, inspired by the late Patrick Kelly, is showing her whimsical street-wear at the Museum in an aptly titled exhibition, Gerlan Jeans Loves Patrick Kelly (April 27-November 30, 2014). Think fluorescent colors, pop culture icons like Mickey Mouse and big bows. The exhibition will showcase videos of Patrick Kelly’s high-spirited runway shows, a complement to the exhibition Patrick Kelly: Runway of Love, concurrently on view in the Perelman Building’s Special Exhibitions Gallery.
