R&B singer and actress Aaliyah who died at the age of 22 in a plane crash in 2001 will be the subject of a Lifetime biopic. Alexandra Shipp has been chosen to portray Aaliyah in the movie produced by TV talk show host Wendy Williams. Shipp is replacing the actress Zandaya Coleman.
Many teens know Shipp, now 23-years-old, as KT Rush in the Nickelodeon teen drama “House of Anubis.” Lots of people including Hollywood star-maker Ryan Seacrest are excited about Shipp’s move from kid actor to adult star. On Seacrest’s blog, he posted “Things to Know About Her” which are: she’s 23, had her first film role in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, she loves to have fun with her friends, and she loves cute animal photos.
