If this month’s Vanity Fair article penned by Monica Lewinsky didn’t satisfy, read Francine Prose’s New York Observer article New York Supergals Love That Naughty Prez. (With a title like that, how could you resist?) Sure it’s sixteen years old but Prose’s reporting of a private meeting held by 10 feminists including Erica Jong, The Power of Beauty author Nancy Friday, and retired dominatrix Susan Shellogg, is worth a revisit. That is, if you like it raunchy.
Perhaps the best quote from the meeting is from Jong: “My dental hygienist pointed out that she (Lewinsky) had third-stage gum disease.” Eight years later, Jong imagined having sex with Bill Clinton in her memoir Seducing the Demon. She worried she wasn’t trashy enough for him.
