Recently released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary (serving five of his eight year sentence on drug charges), Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie is ready to produce the 1000 songs he wrote while locked up. (200 songs a year makes Boosie the new Prince.) The newly liberated rapper got out and started dropping names of possible collaborators like Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber. He also said prison has made him a better person. (Doesn’t a better person maybe stay away from ex-cons like Lil Wayne and Justin Bieber? Just thinking out loud.)
Boosie’s going to be on parole until 2018, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea for him to get some religion. Why not tap the father-figure shoulder of gospel singer turned pastor Marvin Sapp? A Boosie/Sapp album would be a win/win for both artists–who are each looking for a little reputation management. (Sapp’s been in the news lately: He was rumored a suspect in the disappearance of a Grand Rapids doctor who turns out has been stalking him. The doctor is still missing.)
