Iconic rapper Snoop Dogg, who in his years in the entertainment business has been nominated for thirteen Grammy awards, produced numerous records, and enjoyed stints acting in major motion pictures, has undergone a transformation. The 40-year-old artist, formerly known as “Snoop Doggy Dogg”, says he experienced a spiritual rebirth while on vacation in Jamaica, and is upgrading his moniker to “Snoop Lion”. The king of the hip hop jungle has in addition discarded rap–the style that earned him his great fame, and will focus instead on reggae in his new album Reincarnated.
Snoop, famous also for his love of marijuana, has long insisted both publicly and privately that he is the reincarnation of Bob Marley. This proclamation is customarily met with the same, apt response: You must be high, Snoop. His birth name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr.
