In Delaware a 58-year-old Wilmington resident attempting to cross a street in her wheelchair was struck by a gold-hued SUV. The violent impact catapulted the woman from the chair, clear of the intersection. She landed in a southbound lane of the street she was crossing, where she was next pummeled by two more vehicles. She died there on the road.
“It’s a shame that none of the motorists stopped,” said a State Police spokesman.
