Singer/songwriter Kelly Clarkson became a household name when she won the very first season of the talent competition TV series American Idol in 2002. Since then she’s become a coach on The Voice, landed her own talk show (The Kelly Clarkson Show), got married, had two children, divorced, and released ten albums including her most recent, Chemistry.
As seen below, Clarkson, now 41, is on the cover of American Songwriter magazine.
With the photo series above, of Clarkson posing in more than one push-up corset dress, Clarkson talks about the new album, Chemistry, which includes the singles ‘Mine’ and ‘Me.’
The newly divorced Clarkson has described the album as reflecting “the arc of an entire relationship.”
Clarkson told American Songwriter magazine: “The worst part is when you’re going through something and no one around you is going through that thing.” She added: “The worst thing is feeling alone. I don’t want people to feel that, so if there’s a song on here or the album as a whole, that helps — that’s the reason for doing it.”
Clarkson also revealed during the interview: “I got so choked up to where I couldn’t get a sound out.” Good news is that “the worst part” is behind her now.
Clarkson launches her 10-night Las Vegas residency at the Bakkt Theater, Chemistry: An Intimate Evening with Kelly Clarkson, on July 28 (it ends August 19, 2023).
