Hollywood movie star Sarah Michelle Gellar has been in the business for a long time and is known for a variety of roles including the titular character Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Katherine in Cruel Intentions, and Daphne in Scooby-Doo, to name just a few.
So when she received the Icon award at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes (in France), she said she was “truly overwhelmed and emotional.”
When Gellar shared the photos above, of her posing on the pink carpet in a stunningly deep v neck mermaid dress, she made sure to thank “everyone that came out to support me” and her dear friend, fashion designer Christian Siriano (Project Runway winner) for “making me such a beautiful gown.”
As seen above, Gellar also got to leave her handprints on the Cannes Walk of Fame.
Even prior to accepting the Icon award, Gellar looked excited as she posed above on the balcony of her hotel room in Cannes.
Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardner) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) will also get the opportunity to leave their handprints in Cannes.
