Get ready to see more of mega star, singer and actress Fantasia. The American Idol winner (Season 3) is reprising the role of Celie in the 2023 film adaption of The Color Purple, based on the 2005 Broadway musical, which itself was based on the 1985 Steven Spielberg movie, which was based on Alice Walker‘s 1982 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same title.

As seen in the red carpet photos above and below, Fantasia flaunted her curves in a white hot cutout bodycon dress with her co-stars. Fans are going wild over the look. As one replied: “Drop dead gorgeous!”
In the upcoming The Color Purple movie, Fantasia shares the screen with a stellar cast including Taraji P. Henson (Shug); Danielle Brooks (Sofia); H.E.R. (Squeak); Ciara (Nettie); Louis Gossett Jr. (Ol’ Mister Johnson); David Alan Grier (Rev. Samuel Avery), and Deon Cole (Alfonso), among others. The Color Purple will be released in theaters in October 2023.
