The American clothing company J. Crew is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new ad campaign starring Hollywood stars including Diane Keaton (The Godfather, Annie Hall), Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation, The White Lotus).
As seen above, Plaza unbuttoned her white shirt and flaunted her flat abs as she modeled a tiny green sequin mini skirt. (See especially swipe #3.)
Plaza told J. Crew: “I wore a uniform in high school, but even on the dress-down days, I would always rock my J. Crew khaki pants and sweater-vest.” Note: Plaza went to an all-girls Catholic school, Ursuline Academy, and graduated in 2002.
J. Crew suggests wearing the “mermaid-inspired” skirt “to weddings, summer holidays and all the other special occasions on your calendar.” Plus, it pairs perfectly with the matching top!
In the video above, Plaza is asked about fashion trends from the early 2000s — when she just graduated from high school. Plaza remembers Britney Spears and belly buttons. As she says in the video, “Everything kind of goes full circle.” She adds, “So the longer you’re around the more you see things getting recycled.”
