Kim Kardashian does nothing on social media without giving the post some serious thought. So it’s safe to say that whenever Kim — influencer extraordinaire — puts her famous image in close proximity to a brand, even at the gas pump, the display of that relationship is planned, if not necessarily paid for.
(As Kim found out recently, if you get paid for a promotion on social media, you have to say so.)
With that in mind, Kim’s 330 million followers will now know — or at least by the fifth swipe – that Kim gets her gas at Shell. Based in the Netherlands, Shell is the 4th largest oil and gas company in the world, after Saudi Arabia’s ARAMCO, and ExxonMobil and Chevron, both of the US.
Kim can reportedly charge nearly $1 million per post for plugging a brand. So Shell is getting pumped on the cheap. (Some may be surprised that Kim goes Dutch!)
In the pics above, Kim sets out to prove she doesn’t need fancy photography or a lot of help to get on, you know? She says she’s delivering “low quality pics” (her version of the .5 selfie?) and she’s pumping her own gas — regular girl stuff, except for the “high quality fits” of course.
