Cardi B isn’t just a rap queen and businesswoman, she’s a mom — and still a kid at heart, too, with strong roots to her beginnings. So while it’s no real surprise when Cardi makes the effort to go back and give back, arriving at her old Bronx middle school to inspire kids and donate money, it’s still a shock. Cardi’s visit to IS 232 gave her a chance to make a difference by both her presence and her generosity. She donated $100,000 to the school, money pegged for education in the arts — music, dance, etc. — and also for tutoring, so the kids, especially those set back academically by the pandemic, can get individual instruction to help them get back on track.
