Real fans of Rita Ora know what the casual fan can sometimes overlook: her great sense of humor and her way with turning a phrase. Ora put those on display again this week with her canny description of Marvel’s hotly anticipated Thor: Love & Thunder.
Ora tagged blockbuster director Taika Waititi and warned her followers to “get ready for a quiet little arthouse film.”
The Marvel movie — starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson and more — hits multiplexes — not art houses — on July 8, 2022, looking to break some box office records.
There’s no official record of the last time a quiet movie had “thunder” in its actual title, but in expressing exactly what Thor isn’t going to be, Ora has the keenest description.
Although that accolade could go to the commenter who wrote: “This trailer seems so happy and colorful, Gorr is probably gonna slaughter everybody.”
If the movie makes Rita Ora make a face like she’s making below, Taika Waititi will know he got it right.
