Kim Kardashian West just gave fans a selfie where she is squatting — bum on her heels — in front of a mirror wearing her satin Skims bikini underwear. This is hardly a big reveal from Kim — it’s nothing to break the Internet, of course. And maybe even Kanye West won’t be upset about this photo.
Because Kim is actually looking very real here. She looks gorgeous, yes, but real: no photoshopped thigh gap and instead just pure natural curves with thighs that smash together– no faking. In fact, admirably Kim’s thighs touch all the way down the photo, to her knees — real legs, real woman.
You may remember that not long ago the Internet was raging about the supposedly newest trend, or newly noticed trend, in body image — and especially in selfies — called the thigh gap, The thigh gap is a visible space between — you guessed it — one’s thighs that some people confused with healthiness and fitness and desirability. Others roared against it. You know how it goes. (Yes, the thigh gap is usually a standing position thing, but Kim really takes this the other way!)
So it’s great to see Kim Kardashian staying real. She knows what she’s doing too. She’s selling underwear — and if she plans on selling it only to women with big thigh gaps, she limits her market.
