In the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode, “Counselor, It’s Chinatown,” the SVU joins an undercover task force in busting a human trafficking ring. NYPD Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) comes face to face with the ringleader, Evelyn Lee, who is portrayed by Korean-American stand-up comedian Margaret Cho.
The day before the premiere, Cho posted the photo above of her in character with rapper Ice T who plays NYPD Detective Fin. She wrote: “Obviously I’m framing this. @icet getting ready to let me know I’m trash! …of everything I’ve done in my career playing a Korean sex trafficker on your mom’s fave show is probably the highlight.”
When not in front of a camera, Cho hosts a podcast, The Margaret Cho Show, where she interviews famous people including Oscar-winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino…
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Thursdays at 10 pm on NBC, right after Will & Grace at 9:30 pm, The Good Place at 9 pm, Perfect Harmony at 8:30 pm, and Superstore at 8 pm.
