DWTS: Lauren Alaina Mourns Country Legend, “He Always Had My Back”

Dancing with the Stars is taking a break from themes after last week’s Disney Night which did not result in an elimination. There will be an elimination after Week 6’s theme-less performances. Celebrity contestant country music star Lauren Alaina and her pro dance partner Gleb Savchenko intend to wow the audience and judges with a contemporary routine.

I will never forget this day. I will never forget this man. We shared one of the most special moments in my life. We both cried and laughed and celebrated all things country music. I gave him my Giving Key during CRS right after the first picture, and he was wearing it in the second picture at the next CRS. He told me he wore it everyday. He was a true champion of my music and always had my back. He leaves behind a legacy that most can only dream of. Bob Kingsley has gone to be with the King. Expect Alaina to bring a lot of emotion to her performance as she is mourning the loss of country music radio personality Bob Kingsley.

For the past 13 years, Kingsley hosted Bob Kingsley’s Country Top 40. He died on October 17 at the age of 80. Alaina wrote of Kingsley: “He was a true champion of my music and always had my back. He leaves behind a legacy that most can only dream of.”

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays at 8 pm on ABC.
