On the Season 6 premiere of Empire, “What Is Love,” while Lucious (Terrence Howard) is on the run from the Feds, and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is focusing on her daytime talk show, Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) and Giselle (Nicole Ari Parker) search for their first Bossy Media artist. Singer Kiandra Richardson guest stars and performs the song “Heaven.”
It’s Richardson’s big debut on national TV but the 27-year-old has been on a big stage before. Last year, she toured with power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z on their On the Run II Tour.
Richardson also performed with Queen Bey when she headlined the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The performance was nicknamed “Beychella” by fans and the media.
Richardson said of Beyoncé: “Her work ethic, her stamina, her determination, her humanness, all the things that make her great, have inspired me many times over, and please know I’ve taken SO many notes!!!”
Empire airs Tuesdays at 9 pm on FOX, right after the medical drama The Resident at 8 pm.
