Hollywood suffered a major loss with the death of celebrated actor and screenwriter Peter Fonda. According to the official statement issued by the family, the 79-year-old Easy Rider actor succumbed to respiratory failure due to lung cancer, and died a peaceful death at home in Los Angeles.
Fonda is also known for his role in the 1997 film Ulee’s Gold, for which he was nominated for an Oscar Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. One of his co-stars was 15-year-old actress Jessica Biel. It was her first film.
With the photo above, Biel writes: “I had the honor of working with #PeterFonda on the first movie I ever made (as an angsty teenager with a nose ring). Ulee’s Gold was a huge opportunity and he believed in me. I’m forever grateful for him and the impact he had on me and my career.”
Peter Fonda’s older sister, Oscar Award-winner Jane Fonda, 81, wrote: “I am very sad. He was my sweet-hearted baby brother. The talker of the family. I have had beautiful alone time with him these last few days. He went out laughing.”
