Music superstar Bruno Mars lets his fine ride speak for itself. Well his ride and about half his face, looking a bit like — as one commenter said — music legend Rick James.
Maybe it was just the 1970s feel of the whole thing, because the ride is a two-door Chevy Monte Carlo from the mid 70s, with ten-inch wheels. It’s a heavenly chariot with a bench front seat, the likes of which just aren’t made anymore.
Another commenter tells Mars, “you need a new camera baby.” But for Mars, a very deliberate artist who always knows what he’s doing, the fuzziness of the sun-drenched photo was doubtless on purpose.
It looks exactly like a photo salvaged from a photo album preserving memories of the time when Jimmy Carter was President of the United States. Mars staged every ounce of the shot, you have to figure — the fuzz, the car, the Rick James look all scream 1970s. What’s he up to?
The car drew notice too from some serious aficionados, with West Coast Customs chiming in saying “Nice ride.” Yes it is indeed. Bruno got style, right? “Clean and fly” is the consensus, man and car alike.
Bruno got some company with his Monte Carlo love, though these are mostly later:
