Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson is promoting his new film, Shaft, a sequel to the 2000 film with the same title. He stars as the legendary Harlem cop John Shaft. The 70-year-old actor from Chattanooga, Tennessee is ranked the highest all-time box office star: the worldwide box office total of his films is more than $15 billion (and that does not include films with cameo appearances).
Days before the release (Friday, June 14), Jackson was in New York for the Shaft press junket and stopped into Harlem Shake where the bathroom is wallpapered with old covers of JET magazine. Jackson took a photo capturing the faces of Lena Horne, Prince, Idris Elba, Drake, Bernie Mac, Michael Jackson and Shaq, among others. He wrote: “I musta been on the cover of Jet at least once.” Note: We couldn’t find an issue of JET with Jackson on the cover. Guess who’s gonna be on one soon?
