Rapper Scarface (born Brad Terrence Jordan) is running for Houston City Council District D. The former member of the Houston hip hop group Geto Boys, says, “We are running a grassroots campaign powered by we the people.” In his memoir, Diary of a Madman (see link below), Jordan reveals that he dropped out of high school in the ninth grade, became a drug dealer (crack), and spent time in a hospital psychiatric ward.

Two weeks prior to announcing his run for City Council, Jordan was in Stuart, Florida receiving a private golf lesson from golf professional Claude Harmon III, son of the legendary Claude “Butch” Harmon, Jr., Tiger Woods’s golf coach from 1993 to 2004 — during the years when Woods was most dominant. Butch was the son of the 1948 Masters Tournament champion Claude Harmon Sr. In a storied comeback, Tiger Woods won the Masters in April 2019. Scarface is running in some pretty high golf company — he must love the game.

On the golf course, Jordan was also able to enjoy listening to music in his golf cart. That song he’s jamming to is “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore” by the late great Al Hibbler.
