Hollywood star and singer Jennifer Lopez received the Fashion Icon Award at the 2019 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards ceremony in New York. For the big honor, JLo wore a custom look by designer Ralph Lauren. Her orange cropped jersey top is hand-embellished with 43,200 crystals, and her matching orange pleated silk skirt is engineered with concealed pockets and a drawcord waistband.

JLo fans of Indian descent are helpfully pointing out that the outfit is called a lehenga, a long skirt worn by women in South Asia that’s often embroidered with beads, shisha mirrors, or other ornaments. The outfit is actually a two-piece garment consisting of this skirt and a choli, the short-sleeved bodice worn under a sari.
A behind-the-scenes look at the styling session with JLo and her fiance, Alex Rodriguez…
