Haley Lu Richardson was nominated for the Breakthrough Artist award at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards. The 24-year-old actress stars in the romantic comedy film Five Feet Apart. For the red carpet event, Richardson brought her boyfriend, Canadian actor Brett Dier (Schooled, Jane the Virgin). While Richardson wore a sexy black crop top and fringe skirt, Dier opted for a Batman print suit by Oppo Suits ($119.99). Both had fun as Richardson posed to pick Dier’s nose.
In the film Five Feet Apart Richardson plays a young woman with cystic fibrosis. She narrates the film, “I never understood the importance of touch until I couldn’t have it.” She adds, “Human touch. We need that touch from the one we love almost as much as we need air to breathe.”
The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards airs Monday, June 17 at 9 pm on MTV. Shazam star Zachary Levi hosts with performances by Bazzi and Lizzo, among others.
