Celebrity impersonations including a Jeopardy-like game hosted by a young Nick Cannon impersonator dominated Nickelodeon’s reboot premiere of All That, the popular 1990s show that gave Kenan Thompson his start, among others like Kel Mitchell and Cannon. Thompson and Mitchell are back as executive producers, as the premiere seeks to build a bridge to the past with cameos from many of the original stars.
But do the new kids want that bridge to the past? Because, you know, they’re already on their own entertainment island. And on that island Ariana Grande and Beyonce are queens — make fun of them at your own risk! Here’s a skit featuring Queen Bey and Ariana:
Grande sounds terrifically grandiloquent as she utters “I see it, I need it, receive it, repeat it, yeah” during the Masked Video Game Dancer Celebrity Edition skit. Grande is memorably, drolly played by 14-year-old actor Nathan Janak, who does his drag impersonation of the superstar singer to honor Grande. Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and all…
Janak wrote: “i am such a huge fan of hers and i loved getting to play her. thank you to our writers and our amazing hair and makeup team for making me feel just like her from pony tail to the thigh high boots.” (Janak is a veteran of Henry Danger, the hilarious Nickelodeon Jace Norman vehicle.)
Plus there is some Grande singing too, daring as it is. Beyonce is played by actress Gabrielle Green. But beyond the impersonations, there are real celebs on the premiere too, as the three Jonas Brothers who appear aren’t fake singers, they’re the real thing.
