But this was the 2019 Met Gala, and the 49-year-old Jennifer Lopez was in diamond-toned Versace this time, glittering like a galaxy among the firmament of stars at Manhattan’s most glamorous event of the season.
JLo shared her all ready to go photo with her nearly 100 million followers, and between the dress and the headdress, the superstar proved once again that she may be “from the block” — but that objects in her rear view mirror are farther — not closer — than they appear. (JLo may know her way back to the block, but you just can’t go there covered in diamonds.)
JLo’s coruscating look made it so nobody even seemed to notice the debonair Alex Rodriguez, who won a World Series for the New York Yankees not too far from the Bronx block where Lopez grew up.
