On Season 16 of The Voice, coach Adam Levine chose Jimmy Mowery and Kalvin Jarvis to be on his team. During the The Battle Rounds, Levine pits Mowery against Jarvis. Together they sing Usher’s 2001 R&B song “U Got It Bad.” (see link below.) Both young men inherited their love of music from their fathers. When Jimmy was 11, on Thanksgiving morning, a man broke into the Mowery home in Altoona, Pennsylvania and shot and killed Jimmy’s father, James Mowery, in front of the family. Jimmy turned to music to deal with his grief.
