In the Madam Secretary episode “Ready,” a NATO ally carries out a state-sponsored assassination attempt against one of its own citizens, who is also a U.S. resident and old friend of Elizabeth’s (Tea Leoni), Lena Kaminska. On a lighter note, Elizabeth’s daughter Alison has started to date Lucas Morejon (David Zaldivar), the son of her mother’s arch nemesis, Senator Carlos Morejon (Jose Zuniga).

Lena Kaminska is portrayed by actress Susan Pourfar. She’s known for her roles on Ray Donovan (Melinda Getkin), House of Cards (Nora Cafferty), The Sinner (Jessica Biel’s public defender Cora), Scandal (Becky Flynn), Elementary (Emily Hankins), and in the 2016 film Manchester by the Sea (Nurse Irene), among others.
