In the Bull episode “Security Fraud,” Bull (Michael Weatherly) gets to work alongside his idol, lawyer Walter Franklin (Dan Ziskie, House of Cards). On behalf of his client, Sherri Gibson/Rogers, he is suing the U.S. government for wrongful death. Sherri’s husband agreed to testify but was killed while in witness protection. Walter brings Bull to Sherri’s hotel room to discuss the case. Sherri says, angrily, that all she wants is compensation “to get me out of this country, that’s it. Just move me someplace where everyone and their uncle doesn’t have a gun.” Bull advises Sherri to not demand anything from the jury and insult the country but to “put away that anger and present yourself as the victim you actually are – the concerned mother, the grieving widow – and you just might get what you want.”

Widow Sherri is portrayed by Wendy Makkena. She’s known for her roles on NCIS (Kate’s sister Dr. Rachel Cranston), The Mob Doctor (Daniella Devlin), Oliver Beene (Charlotte Beene), A League of Their Own (Mae Mordabito), and in films including the Sister Act movies (Mary Robert), Air Bud (Jackie Framm), and Eight Men Out (Shoeless Joe Jackson’s wife Kate Jackson), among others. Makkena will appear next on the big screen in The Tomorrow Man with John Lithgow and Blythe Danner. Bull airs Mondays at 10 pm on CBS, right after Magnum, P.I.
