On the Sister Wives episode “Kody’s Shocking Move,” the father of the bride, Kody Brown, drops a huge bombshell after his 23-year-old engaged daughter Aspyn goes wedding dress shopping. He wants to move back to Utah, which won’t be easy for many reasons — one, he could be arrested for his plural marriage lifestyle and then there are numerous logistical reasons. With a weird whiteboard presentation titled “Population Affordability”, he tells his wives he wants to sell their houses in Nevada and move back to Utah where he plans to run for political office. The presentation is met with resistance. Janelle is the first to tell Kody, “I’m not interested.”

When the sister wives get together without Kody, Meri makes it very clear, “I have to desire at all to move back to Utah.” Robyn looks exhausted just talking about Kody’s idea of running for office, “It’s never going to end. We’re never going to just have peace.” Janelle reminds the sisters that they have children. The triplets are going to be juniors in high school next year. “Why would we move them?” Sister Wives airs Sundays at 8 pm on TLC, right before Seeking Sister Wife.
