The actors that AT&T has cast in its funny series about “just OK” performers are all outstanding (like Josh Brolin “stay in your lane” doppelganger Blake Gibbons in OK Tattoo Artist). But none of these acting mini-masterpieces is better than actor Steven Hall‘s turn as the “(almost) reinstated” OK Surgeon Dr. Francis. (SEE VIDEO BELOW.)
Maybe it’s because the stakes don’t get any higher than surgery — tattoos are lasting but they rarely kill you! Hall gets some great lines from the writers in this swift spot and while all the actors are great here, it’s a setup for Hall to steal the scene — and he sure steals it.
[Hall also plays a doctor in GOODBYE TO ALL THAT]
Actor Steven Hall is a natural for the doctor act. His turn as a doctor for AT&T, in fact, is right in his lane. Check out his hilarious work as a sarcastic amputation-happy doctor in the spot below from his reel. (Hall played a doctor in Goodbye To All That with Paul Schneider, see link above.) And he played an ophthalmologist in the 2018 film High and Dry. The 6’1″ Hall may be “Just OK” at doctoring, but his all-around skills are impressive, including 4 and 5 ball juggling, tightrope walking and stage combat choreography.
