“Relax amigo it’s gonna look OK,” says the gruff-voiced, smiling, kind-yet-menacing tattoo artist in AT&T’s ‘OK Tattoo Parlor’ commercial. The tattoo artist is a cross between Josh Brolin, Kris Kristofferson, and Jeff Bridges — and he’s played to absolute perfection by the handsome versatile actor Blake Gibbons. You want to hear a line delivered flawlessly? Listen to Gibbons tell his victim: “Stay in your lane, bro.” (SEE VIDEO BELOW.)
Blake Gibbons has long been a star on Daytime TV, with a recurring role (Coleman) on the enduring soap General Hospital. And that Jeff Bridges connection? Bridges most famously played The Dude, of course, in The Big Lebowski. But on the iconic and enormously popular sitcom Seinfeld, it was Gibbons who was tapped to play “The Dude.” (SEE YouTube video below.) Gibbons rocked The Dude on the final episode of season 8, “The Summer of George.”
Gibbons’ list of credits is as long as the regret his tattoo victim seems destined for. The actor has appeared on everything from Baywatch Nights to CSI: Miami to Dexter. This isn’t Gibbons’ first time working on a hilarious TV commercial either. Gibbons crushed his part in GEICO’s funny “Stuntman Cheats Death Again” in 2017 (see video below).
