In the Modern Family episode “Blasts from the Past,” Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) decide to take a cycling tour through Italy before they become grandparents, and Dylan (Reid Ewing) introduces them to his mom Farrah who has an interesting past and kisses people she meets on the lips. Awkwardness ensues especially for Phil when he connects the dots. Farrah was Phil’s teen fantasy: she was “the hot chick” in the “Sex Kitty” music video. When Farrah visits the Dunphys, she brings her young twin daughters, Betty and Janice (played by real life twins Sedona Fuller and London Fuller) with her.
Dylan’s mom — the “Sex Kitten” video star — is portrayed by Rachel Bay Jones. The Broadway star and Grammy winner (“Dear Evan Hansen”) is known for her roles on God Friended Me (Susan), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Teresa Carisi, SEE LINK ABOVE), and in the 2018 heartbreaking film Ben Is Back (Beth Conyers) with Julia Roberts. Modern Family airs Wednesdays at 9 pm on ABC, right after The Goldbergs spin-off Schooled and right before Single Parents.
