On the Season 5 premiere of The Rap Game, “The Battle Begins,” music producer Jermaine Dupri is back with six new young rappers who are vying to win a music contract with Dupri’s So So Def Records. So So Def has launched the career of young artists including Bow Wow, Kris Kross, TLC, and Usher. The six teenage rappers on Season 5 include three boys and three girls:
- Tyeler Reign, 16, from Los Angeles, opened for Busta Rhymes and Silento
- Nya Kasan, 16, from Detroit who’s determined to turn tragedy into triumph
- Eli Triplett, 15, from Chattanooga, raised by his single dad
- Queen Amayah, 15, from Miami
- Sire, 14, from family of 10 in Atlanta
- Lil Richye, 13, from Charlotte, family runs record label

Not just on stage with Busta Ryhmes and Silento but in front of the camera, too. The L.A. native lets her star quality shine in her new music video “Petty” (which includes the line “You wanna be petty, well I can be petty too”) and she’s a model for Vlado Footwear sneakers (see commercial below). The Rap Game airs Thursdays at 9 pm on Lifetime.
