In the Gotham episode “Pena Dura,” Eduardo Dorrance (Shane West) leads a military task force in Gotham to “eliminate all threats” while Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) points a gun at Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and accuses him of “breaking” him. Penguin responds by leading Nygma back to Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong).
Meanwhile Barbara (Erin Richards) celebrates Selina (Camren Bicondova) after she killed Jeremiah, a woman named Gretel appears in Gotham. In the DC comics, Gretel (aka investigative reporter for the Gotham Flame, Lisly Bonner) is an enemy of Batgirl whose power is mind control (of men). Oh, and she’s impervious to pain.
On Gotham, Gretel is portrayed by Marceline Hugot. The Brown University graduate is known for her roles on Better Call Saul (Shirley Martland), The Leftovers (Gladys), 30 Rock (CEO daughter Kathy Geiss, SEE LINK ABOVE), The Onion News Network (Mayor Sue Hallinan), and in a variety of films including Julie & Julia (Madame Bernheim), United 93 (Georgine Rose Corrigan), and Working Girl (Bitsy, her debut role), among others. Gotham airs Thursdays at 8 pm on FOX, right before The Orville.
