In the Murphy Brown episode “The Wheels on the Dog Go Round and Round,” while broadcasting live at an animal shelter to celebrate “National Adopt-a-Dog Day,” Corky (Faith Ford) guilts Murphy (Candice Bergen) into adopting a dog. Meanwhile, at Phil’s Bar, Phyllis (Tyne Daly) and Miguel (Adan Rocha) receive a surprise visit from an intimidating health inspector named Peter Noonan.
Health inspector Peter Noonan is portrayed by Peter Scolari. Scolari is known for his roles on Girls (Lena Dunham’s father Tad, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2016, SEE LINK ABOVE), Madoff (Ponzi schemer Bernie’s brother Peter Madoff), Gotham (Commissioner Loeb), Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show (Wayne), Newhart (Michael Harris), and Bosom Buddies with Tom Hanks (Henry/Hilde), among others. Murphy Brown airs Thursdays at 9:30 pm on CBS, right after Mom and right before S.W.A.T.
