In the NCIS: New Orleans episode “Close to Home,” the NCIS team places Mateo Diaz (guest star Octavio Rodriguez), a high-school gang member-turned-informant, in protective custody while they investigate the murder of his junior reserve officers’ training corps instructor.
Pride (Scott Bakula) turns to his new-found brother Jimmy Boyd to gain Mateo’s trust. Pride just met Jimmy a month ago in the episode “In the Blood,” when their father Cassius Pride got wrapped up in an NCIS case involving a notoriously unsolved casino heist from several years ago. Since then, Pride got Jimmy a job working at Desiree’s, a coffee and pastry shop known for its almond beignets.
Pride’s brother Jimmy is portrayed by Jason Alan Carvell. This is his first recurring role on a primetime TV show. He’s appeared on Elementary (Detective Grimes), Blue Bloods (Chris Teller), and The Blacklist (Owen Doherty), among others. He’s also recognized for his role as the “well-spoken beastly thug” in the 2016 film Better Off Single. NCIS: New Orleans airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on CBS, right after FBI.
