Most of the faces on Season 9 of Love & Hip Hop New York are familiar. Rema Ma and Papoose are back, and so are retired rapper Joe Budden and his girlfriend Cyn Santana after a five-year hiatus from the show. The newest face on the block is Maino. The 45-year-old rapper born Jermaine Coleman from Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn served 10 years in prison. In the early 1990s, as a teenager, Maino was involved in a “drug related kidnapping” and got caught.

When Maino got out in 2003, he launched his own record label, Hustle Hard Entertainment. In 2008, he got himself and his label signed with Atlantic Records. He’s best known for his single “Hi Hater” from his 2008 debut album “If Tomorrow Comes…”. Maino released his second album in 2012, The Day After Tomorrow. Fun fact: In 2015, Maino recorded “Crazy” with Erika Jayne (Erika Girardi of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) which became a #1 dance hit. He’s featured in the music video too (see below). Maino’s girlfriend Maggie Carrie joins him on Love & Hip Hop New York which airs Mondays at 8 pm on VH1.
