In the Season 4 premiere episode of Superstore, “Back to School,” pregnant Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) return to the store after their suspension. While they get teased by everyone for their backroom “sex video,” Jeff (Michael Bunin) goes to extreme lengths to win back boyfriend Mateo (Nico Santos) after accepting a corporate job in Chicago. In Season 3, Amy told Jonah that the father of the baby is her ex-husband Adam (Ryan Gaul).
While filming the show, Ferrera was actually expecting her first child with her husband of seven years, Ryan Piers Williams. In March, her friends and family threw her a baby shower. Ferrera’s Superstore co-stars including Ben Feldman and Lauren Ash were there to help celebrate — as were her Ugly Betty co-stars Ana Ortiz and Mark Indelicato. In May, Ferrera gave birth to a boy, Sebastian Piers Williams — aka “Baz”. Baz’s father Piers Williams is an actor and filmmaker. He has directed Ferrera twice (The Dry Land), and is currently starring in the independent film 1985. Superstore airs Thursdays at 8pm on NBC.
