How celebrities are paired up with their professional dance partners on Dancing with the Stars remains a mystery. But whatever the formula is, it’s working. The show is back for its 27th season! The bad news is pro dancer Jenna Johnson has been paired up with Bachelor Nation star Joe “Grocery Joe” Amabile. His first performance was, let’s just say, lackluster. When the couple was saved after the first week, Jenna was shocked. See clip below.

The good news is, Jenna and Joe get another shot on week two (it’s a New York City theme). If you notice Jenna has a little more pep in her step it’s because her fellow DWTS dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, 32, proposed to 24-year-old Jenna. They were in Venice, Italy when he got down on one knee (his bare ankles exposed) and popped the question. Maybe their wedding vows will include the promise to love one another “With or without socks.” Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays LIVE at 8pm on ABC.
